INTERNATIONAL LANDSCAPE AND ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION FOR THE DESIGN OF OLONKHOLAND COMPLEX

AIMS AND TASKS


The aims of the competition are:

— to develop the landscape architecture concept and select the best and most suitable for the Program and competition criteria;

— to define the winner author of the best landscape architecture concept of the Olonkholand complex, who will be involved in further implementation of the National innovative project «Olonkholand» of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (further «the project»), preparation of project documentation, and solving the following tasks:

— to create a unique architectural artistic image of the national innovative complex «Olonkholand» and its key object «Olonkho International Center»;

— to apply innovative techniques in organization of multipurpose auditorium of the Olonkho International Center, the meaning and compositional heart of the complex, to apply the most modern technologies, equipment and materials;

— to manage the complex extensive planning rationally and functionally;

— to provide energy efficiency and self-sufficiency of objects while operating.

COMPETITION OBJECTIVES


The objectives of the competition are: to arrive at a strategy for development and planning of the complex, including park as its part; to make spatial decisions for the landscape architecture of the complex; to propose an overarching urban, spatial and architectural solution for other elements of the complex, such as buildings and structures, a multifunctional complex, parking and Lake Saisar embankment; to determine the location, size and volume requirements of the complex objects; to develop the sketch idea of architectural concept of the complex key object — a multipurpose complex «Olonkho International Center» (further «OIC»).

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR


We are inviting architects, landscape architects and urban planners, who can bring together multidisciplinary teams of specialists in the fields of engineering, management of public spaces, entertainment industry, cultural programming, economy, sociology, anthropology, dendrology, ecology and wildlife management.

COMPETITION FORMAT


The competition format will be in two-stages with an open prequalification to select teams for the second stage.

Stage 1: Pre-qualification of competitors. Four teams will be selected to participate in the second stage.

Stage 2: Concept competition. Winner and finalists (second and third) will be selected.
